John,
This week, the former president received his fourth criminal charge of the year. These indictments now seem as commonplace as a weather report or sports update when they constantly pop up on the news. I am deeply saddened for our country. The complete failure of the former president to lead this country and lead with respect for what is right is devastating.
As a mother, I fear what our younger generations are learning from so-called ‘leaders’ like Donald Trump. If you don’t get your way, threaten and manipulate innocent people. If you are held accountable, point fingers. The sanctity of our democracy is being shredded to bits every time Trump spreads lies about the 2020 election and inches closer to returning to the White House.
For so long, national Republicans have claimed a moral high ground based on their Christian beliefs and values. Well, as a devout Christian, I look at Trump’s fourth indictment and think national Republicans have no claim to morality if this is who they choose to lead them.
My faith guides me every day to do what is right. In Congress, I bring these values with me every day as I lead with empathy and grace. I believe we as a country can do better than this. We can’t let leaders like the former president come back into power.
If you believe we should elevate those who lead through faith and conviction, not selfishness and arrogance, I hope you will consider contributing to my campaign today.
