Team, we wanted to make sure you saw these two POLITICO headlines.

First, the good news:

POLITICO
“Dems see a surprising new path to retaking the House – through the Deep South”

Thanks to a recent Supreme Court ruling upholding the Voting Rights Act, states across the South – including Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and others – could be required to redraw their gerrymandered maps before the next election.

Replacing gerrymandered maps would help ensure a fair playing field for 2024. And as A.G. Holder has said, “Wherever Democrats can fairly compete, they can win.”

Now, the bad news:

POLITICO
“The battle for the House is currently dominated by GOP fundraising”

Right now, MAGA Republicans are outpacing Democratic candidates with small-dollar donors. If we don’t ramp up our own grassroots fundraising, we could squander this opportunity to win back the House majority.

As President Obama said, “Our opposition is counting on the NDRC to lose the energy and drive that our movement has sustained so far. We simply cannot afford to do that.”
