In 2022, razor-thin victories in states like Arizona and Nevada helped Democrats prevent the predicted "red wave" and expand their Senate majority. But according to our team's recent analysis, we could have easily avoided tight races in these states by investing even just a little more in Latino turnout:

"By analyzing precinct data, the organization’s projections show even modest increases of Latino turnout by 2.5 or 5 percentage points would net a fraction of a percentage for Democrats in a two-way race — boosting someone like Cortez Masto’s vote shares that much more, in a race that ultimately saw her and Republican Adam Laxalt separated by less than 1 point.

Voto Latino president María Teresa Kumar said she was unsurprised by the results, adding that even a little more investment would have avoided such a 'close contest.'”

The governor's race in Arizona and the Senate race in Nevada were both so tight in 2022 that it took days to count the ballots and learn the final result. But if there had been even just 5% more investment in Latino turnout, Democrats could have won by a much more comfortable margin.

It's too late to fix that mistake for 2022 — but we don't have to repeat it in 2024. Will you pitch in right away to fund Latino outreach efforts?

With MAGA Republicans like Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis running for president, the stakes in 2024 are higher than ever. Reproductive freedom, voting rights, and the future of our climate are all on the line. That means we have a choice to make:

OPTION ONE: We can do nothing, and watch as another uncomfortably close election decides our country's future.

OPTION TWO: We can take action, invest in Latino voter outreach now, and make our voices heard by defeating the MAGA agenda in a decisive way.

Here at Voto Latino, we're taking Option 2 — and we hope you'll join us.

There are hundreds of thousands of young Latino voters to reach, but the strength of our work depends on grassroots supporters like you. Will you pitch in to help power our efforts to register and mobilize more young Latinos than ever before?
