Action Alert: Stop Abortion in the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act
The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act aims to prevent workplace discrimination against pregnant mothers, but its ambiguity on abortion is being exploited by the Biden administration. Proposed regulations could force US employers to provide 'reasonable accommodations' for pregnant women seeking abortions. There are no meaningful religious exemptions. This means faith-based organizations would be forced to facilitate abortions, including travel and possibly paying for the abortions themselves!
The Act also grants the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission broad power to possibly target pro-life organizations. This could lead to prolonged legal battles and challenges to religious freedom. The law requires the administration to consider public feedback. The EOCC is seeking comments on whether or not to provide more specific “religious organization provisions.” We’re asking you to submit comments indicating that yes, we do want more religious provisions! Thanks to CatholicVote for setting this up.
