In post-Roe America, reproductive freedom is constantly at risk of being restricted by extreme Republicans. That’s why abortion rights activists in Arizona are campaigning to get abortion rights on the ballot next November. Katie is proud to support this effort to enshrine abortion protections in Arizona’s Constitution.

Fox 10: Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs declares State of Emergency due to historic heat wave

Record-breaking heat poses a real threat to public health and safety, which is why Katie is taking action to keep Arizonans safe in this triple-digit weather. Through an executive order, Katie opened new cooling centers, proposed future policy changes to improve Arizona’s heat resiliency, and is ensuring Arizona’s energy assistance program funds are being used efficiently to help families stay safe.

AZ Family: Gov. Hobbs announces initiative with TSMC microchip company aimed to help workers

In partnership with TSMC, Katie announced a new protection program with a mission to keep workers safe and add more transparency to the workplace. This is part of Katie’s new initiative, Build It Arizona, which aims to double the number of construction and trade apprentices by 2026.

Prop 400: Creating jobs, growing businesses

KJZZ: DCS unveils new welcome center for AZ foster kids

Earlier this week, Katie returned to her roots as a social worker and attended the grand opening of a new welcome center for youth entering foster care. This new center is a safe, supportive environment for children with an outdoor playground, onsite clinic, and comfortable sleeping quarters. While visiting, Katie reassured that she’s focused on expanding services to keep Arizona families together – including addressing the housing crisis, expanding childcare, and making the workplace more accessible.

ABC 15: Gov. Hobbs' border strategy winning over the lawmen who are looking for help

During a roundtable discussion with local law enforcement, Katie made it clear that her goal is to depoliticize the border and ensure resources are used effectively to help border communities. This was met with praise from local police chiefs and county officials, who are glad to see Katie is taking action to keep folks safe.
