Announcing My Resignation |
Just a bit ago, I informed the members of the Indiana Republican State Committee of my intention to step down from my position as chairman of the Indiana Republican Party effective upon the election of my successor.
Serving as the chairman for the last six and a half years has been a great honor and a privilege. Together, we have accomplished so much, the least of which includes defeating an incumbent Democrat U.S. Senator, flipping 19 mayoral offices and electing a record number of Republican mayors, launching the Indiana Republican Diversity Leadership Series, and just this past November, making Indiana as "red" as it has ever been since the 1950s. None of this would have been possible without the help of so many. Thank you for everything that you have done for our great Indiana Republican Party. I fully believe that if we continue to campaign with a clear message as Indiana's only Party of Purpose, and then deliver real results for all Hoosiers, that they will continue to elect and reelect Republicans long into the future. Thank you, again, for everything.

🏛️ Preserving Hoosier History |

Governor Eric Holcomb participates in a groundbreaking ceremony for the new state archives building. |
This week, Governor Eric Holcomb joined other elected officials in breaking ground on the site of the new state archives building. -
The building will be the new home to Indiana's vast collection of documents and other records, including executive, legislative and judicial records dating back to Indiana’s territorial government of the 1790s, including the 1816 and 1851 state constitutions.
What he's saying: "We’ve heard a lot about this for a lot of years. Visitors are going to come to this place, and they’re going to learn so many things — maybe some surprising things … fascinating things … how we got to where we are … it all illustrates that path forward, and where we’re going as a state,” said Gov. Holcomb. Context: Currently, these records are stored in a warehouse on the east side of Indianapolis that lacks the necessary climate controls since to properly preserve them. -
They were moved from the basement of the state library building during a 2001 renovation.

📰 NBC News: Inflation Remained Elevated in July at 3.2% — and Prices are Unlikely to Return to Pre-pandemic Levels Anytime Soon |
From NBC News: "The Consumer Price Index hit 3.2% in July, compared with 3% in June, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Thursday.
"Once again, food prices were among the largest contributors to last month's increase. Food at home prices increased 3.6% over the past 12 months, while food away from home, like at restaurants, increased 7.1% over that period. ...
"And while economists say the prices of some goods and services have started to retreat from their post-pandemic highs, the U.S. is unlikely to return to pre-pandemic price levels — what some may think of as 'normal' prices — any time soon."

👀 ICYMI: Democrats Forget How They Voted |
The Indiana Democrat Party and Democrats in the statehouse seem to have forgotten how they voted on key bills this past legislative session.
Catch up: Over the past couple weeks, the Indiana Democrat Party has attempted to attack statehouse Republicans on multiple issues, seemingly forgetting that their members voted against solutions to those very issues. -
On child care, all but two statehouse Democrats voted against establishing a tax credit to help expand child care across the state.
-
On clean water, all but two statehouse Democrats voted against a 500% increase for Clean Water Indiana.
-
On Pre-K, all but two statehouse Democrats voted against expanding eligibility for the program, making thousands of more Hoosier families eligible.
The icing on the cake: Democrat State Senator Andrea Hunley sent out a taxpayer-funded mailer saying she was proud of what "we" were able to accomplish this past legislative session. -
The problem? She joined all but two statehouse Democrats in voting against everything she listed, including funding for a homeless shelter, eliminating textbook fees, doubling the amount of funding for food banks, and creating an economic enhancement district for downtown Indianapolis.
Statehouse Republicans are the ones delivering for Hoosiers. |
