Too many children across the United States still face food insecurity, despite living in one of the wealthiest nations in the world. Here in Massachusetts, we’re doing something about it.
Earlier this month, the Massachusetts state legislature passed permanent free school meals for ALL public school students to ensure no child goes hungry.
How does our state have the revenue to pay for it? Two words: millionaires tax. Last year, our state enacted a 4% tax on Massachusetts residents who make over $1 million per year.
It’s not that complicated: when the wealthiest are paying their fair share, we’re able to afford life-changing policies and programs like universal free school breakfasts and lunches.
Think of what it would mean if we took the same approach at the federal level. Think of what it would mean to guarantee every student in America healthy, nutritious meals at school.
That’s exactly what I’m fighting for as your Congresswoman, but I need your support to keep it up. Can you pitch in $3 today to fuel our grassroots campaign for bold, progressive change?
