John —

I will never forget the first time I cast my first vote. I stepped into the booth at my local polling place, enthusiastically drew the curtain, and proudly made my voice heard in the 1980 presidential election.

I thought about the generations of women and civil rights leaders before me who fought to give future generations of women like me a voice at the table, often with their lives, for the sacred right to vote and participate in our democracy.

But over 100 years after the ratification of the 19th Amendment – and almost 60 years since the passage of the Voting Rights Act – our nation STILL has yet to fully deliver on its promise of equal protection at the ballot box.

Last month, Democrats in the House introduced the sweeping Freedom to Vote Act, which would enact automatic voter registration, make Election Day a federal holiday, end partisan gerrymandering, restore voting rights for people who’ve served their time for felony convictions, and more to make voting more accessible and equitable for millions of Americans.

Sadly, the bill has no chance of passing while with a MAGA GOP-controlled House.

Chip in $5 ahead of our midmonth fundraising deadline at MIDNIGHT tonight to help Democrats take back our House majority, pass the Freedom to Vote Act, and ensure our democracy remains intact for generations to come. >>

Fueled by false claims of election denialism, at least 11 states have enacted increased voter restrictions, more than any year besides 2021. On top of it, systemic barriers, long lines at the polls, and cumbersome registration requirements have created unnecessary barriers for many – disproportionately Black and brown voters –from participating in our most critical civic duty.

Republicans in Congress continue to parrot Trump’s lies about election fraud and are doubling down by passing laws that make it harder for Americans to participate in our democracy.

We urgently need election reform, and the only way to get there is by taking back our House majority. There are just a few hours left— chip in ahead of our midmonth fundraising deadline to finally get the job done.
