Chip’s letter to fellow members of Congress is gaining steam, with 14 fellow colleagues from Texas now signing on.
 
His letter stats plainly that Congress should not continue to fund the Department of Homeland Security until they do their job and secure the border.
 
In addition to refusing DHS appropriations funding, the letter dictates how to best remedy this crisis effectively and efficiently:
  • Urge the Senate to pass H.R. 2, one of the strongest border security bills in decades
  • Impeach Secretary Mayorkas
  • Reimburse $10 billion to the state of Texas for border security operations

15 Texas Republicans are circulating a letter declaring that the Department of Homeland Security shouldn’t get funded come Oct. 1 without “significant change” along the southern border. The letter repeats a previous version that was signed only by Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas). The added signatures, however, are a clear sign of growing support within the House GOP for using the end-of-September government funding deadline as a possible leverage point to get border and immigration changes.
