John,

Across the country, there is an effort to distort and deceive people about Black history.

Florida's new education standard for social studies is just the latest string of attempts by extremist Republicans to deny the injustices of our past.

We saw it happen right here in Ohio when the Republican-held legislature tried to strip "divisive" topics, including our history as Black Americans, from the curriculum. Now, more than 18 states have bans on teaching critical race theory, and we're in danger of falling victim to ignorance.

Diversity, social justice, and systemic racism are not controversial topics, John. They're a deep part of our history that we cannot ignore.

We must turn this tide to make sure that American history is not bastardized, and Black history is not erased. Will you join me in the fight to advance civil rights, social justice, and economic inclusion for Black Americans—and every American alike—by contributing $5 today? As we hit the midway point for the hardest fundraising quarter of the year, my team and I could use your help.
