John: We've got good news and bad news about our race to defeat Ted Cruz and flip Texas blue.

The good news: Ted Cruz is beatable. In 2018, he won by a slim 2.6% margin. Now, CNN says he's the most vulnerable Republican senator in America, and polling shows us just 5 points down with a significant portion of voters – 14% – still undecided.

|
The bad news: GOP-led voter suppression is out of control. Texas already has some of the strictest voting laws in the country, and Republicans are pushing even more restrictions aimed specifically at Democratic strongholds like Houston! To make matters worse, in 2022, less than half of registered voters in Texas cast a ballot.

|
What all this means is, we CAN win this race – but ONLY if we have the resources to reach, educate, and turn out every voter in Texas. We need to knock on thousands of doors, make tens of thousands of phone calls, and find innovative ways to connect with voters across the state.
