With the House GOP majority, Congress is largely no longer a place where solutions to help the American people are created. Instead, extremists are competing to see who can incite the next controversy. They lead not to help the American people, but to get featured on Fox News.
That’s not why I’m in Congress.
I ran for Congress because I want to work across the aisle to deliver pragmatic solutions for Sacramento County families. Despite many of my races being extremely challenging and heated, I have always prioritized my constituents every single day in office—and that’s what keeps me going.
I’m writing to you today to ask you to show which side you’re on.
Look, it’s not just Congress. Americans are becoming more polarized and more isolated across the political spectrum. There’s a lack of trust between people and a lack of faith in our institutions.
And now that the conservative Supreme Court is about to make its first post-Dobbs reproductive rights ruling, this divide is only going to get worse.
We need to lower the temperatures in our politics. That’s why I need to know: Are you with me?
