John,
The city of Austin has had temperatures over 100 degrees for 40 days in a row. Across Texas, fires are burning, rivers are drying, crops are dying, and precious wildlife are becoming extinct.
Climate change is here, and it’s time to take decisive action.
That’s why Ground Game Texas is investing in local campaigns to adopt new climate policies. We’ve spent close to two years organizing for policies promoting solar power and water conservation in El Paso, Texas, right in the heart of the Permian Basin, one of the largest oil fields in the world. We know the world cannot wait for climate action.
Climate change affects us all, and the problems of Texas do not stay behind state lines. The massive pollution triggered by oil exploration in the Permian Basin affects everyone on this planet. That’s why we’ve invested in grassroots organizing in El Paso and other communities, to build power for a more sustainable future.
John, we know that problems like climate change can feel insurmountable. But we’ve seen how much progress can be made. By investing in young organizers, by nurturing local organizations, by building coalitions and creating shared goals, we can truly make a difference.
With love and respect,
Mike Siegel
