Brooke Alexander and Billy High had been dating for just a few months when Brooke took a pregnancy test that came back positive.

She sought out an abortion, but an ultrasound revealed she was far past the six-week limit set by the newly enacted Texas Heartbeat Act.

Brooke considered traveling to New Mexico to abort--but the sight of TWO hearts beating on the ultrasound led her to choose life. Two years later, Brooke and Billy are married, and the twins enjoy swimming lessons and bedtime stories.

Nobody thinks the world would be a better place without these precious little ones...except, perhaps, the Washington Post, which recently ran an irresponsible article suggesting that maybe Brooke and Billy would be better off without their little girls.
