On August 8th, Lähaina suffered an unimaginable tragedy.

We are still gathering information, but we know hundreds of our UNITE HERE Local 5 members have been affected — including many who have lost their homes.

Maui’s frontline workers — hospitality, airport, and healthcare workers — are among those directly impacted by the wildfires. They are continuing to serve — at the hotels that are now being used as emergency shelters, at the Kahului airport where tourists are being evacuated and aid is being flown in, and at healthcare facilities where fire victims are being treated — all while dealing with their own devastating losses.

Nobody knows exactly what is to come, but we do know how to support our Union family and our community in Maui. Please donate in solidarity with our Union siblings, including many that have lost their homes.
