Background checks save lives.
Everyone one of us who deployed to Iraq had to pass one to carry a weapon. We should expect no less of civilians who want to own one here at home.
This is common sense. And as members of the military and military family members, we know this better than most.
Many of us have handled these weapons. We know their power and what they are capable of.
That makes our voice important in this debate — and as calls for the Senate to come back into session grow louder, so must our voices:
When members of Congress — often ones in more conversation districts — ask us how the veterans, military family members and their supporters feel about this issue, we want to make it clear there is near-universal support for ACTION.
So thank you for sounding off.
