Here is my latest report from the ground in Hawaii:

The confirmed fatality count has climbed over 100 and is expected to rise as search efforts continue.

Thousands are in need of housing, power, and safe drinking water.

Another pressing need is access to medication and health care. Many people were injured in the fire and many lost everything, including their prescription medicines.

Finally, mental health care in the form of long-term counseling and therapy will be critical as people recover from the grief of this traumatic event.

Currently, Americares is meeting with health providers and offering them medicines, medical supplies, hygiene items and emergency funding for ongoing relief efforts.
