When a far-right organization brought their hate to Philadelphia, People For the American Way mobilized.

People For the American Way

Friend,

A little over a month ago, People For the American Way and our allies took to the streets of Philadelphia to protest against a far-right organization that is taking root in many communities across the country – advocating for book censorship and restrictions on the freedom to learn. Extremist group “Moms for Liberty” was in town hosting their annual summit with many Republican presidential hopefuls eagerly courting their support.

“Moms for Liberty” might seem like a harmless name for an organization – but as we all well know, the Far Right excels at the kind of misdirection that hides the truth of what they are doing.

The reality is “Moms for Liberty” is an extremist right-wing organization that stands for anything but liberty. They are in favor of book bans, against LGBTQ+ rights, and support a slew of other freedom-limiting policies. Funded by billionaires’ dark money, this group has grown quickly, and is becoming an influential force on the right.

It’s also not too late to join our Grandparents For Truth network!

There are no age requirements, and you don’t have to be an actual grandparent to join – just an advocate for protecting the freedom to learn from censorship efforts! >>

Thanks to the continued support of our members, People For quickly mobilized a community of supporters to push back against the growing authoritarian threat posed by Moms for Liberty, and it’s through your continued support and advocacy that we’re able to identify and respond to emerging challenges as they arise in other communities across the country.

Stay tuned for additional ways you can support these efforts in the weeks and months ahead.

Thanks for all that you do,

People For the American Way
