In a major victory for voters, a federal court struck down a portion of Texas voter suppression law Senate Bill 1 — which enacted new ID requirements for mail-in ballots — for violating the Materiality Provision of the Civil Rights Act. In a blow to accessibility, a federal appeals court upheld an Indiana law that requires voters under the age of 65 to have an excuse to vote by mail. A lawsuit argued that the law discriminates against younger voters and violates the 26th Amendment.
