Dear community,
We believe in a future that keeps trans youth safe, healthy, and thriving.
This week, our team is in Court in Texas to stop Senate Bill 14 (SB14) from going into effect on September 1. This blatantly unconstitutional law, would ban life-saving healthcare for trans youth. We know banning age-appropriate health care for trans youth can have devastating consequences. As a community, we’re asking folks to show their support by writing a letter as part of #LoveLettersToTransYouth. [[link removed]]

We know that this medical care is safe, effective and life-saving. Our attorneys—along with our partners at Lambda Legal, American Civil Liberties Union, and ACLU of Texas, Scott Douglass & McConnico LLP and Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer, LLP—brought multiple medical experts to testify. There is extensive scientific evidence that healthcare for trans youth is safe, effective, and reduces great harm that trans youth may face. They also testified that this care is also supported by every major medical association in this country.
Nathan Noe, one of our 16-year-old plaintiffs bravely testified yesterday about the impact of having access to the medical care the state of Texas has banned: “I am able to live my life as a teenage boy…This medicine has really saved my life.”
All people, whether we’re cis or trans, need adequate medical care to survive, to live our lives alongside our families and our loved ones. Texan families deserve this just like anyone else.
For every parent and young person who is anxious to hear what the future holds for their children, we will continue to fight with you and for you. To our trans youth, we see you, we love you, and we will continue to support you. And for every doctor who has been providing this life-saving treatment, thank you for all you are doing.
In solidarity,
