A right-wing bully group that supports actual insurrectionists and white supremacists had this to say about me:
This is the same group who spent $4 million falsely calling me a Trump supporter during the primaries and then spent millions more during the general election supporting my Republican opponent—while insisting that anyone who doesn’t agree with their extreme right-wing views is a bigot.
Their obsession with me is alarming, but not surprising. They know that as a working class Black woman, I didn't run to be the face of the Israel or Palestine issue one way or another.
But I did run to be a champion for poor, working class and Black people who have never had representation in my district and to fight for equality here and abroad. And that's the real reason they’re targeting and attacking me. Because the truth is they're just an extremely wealthy white organization that operates like so many others: they hate progressive, Black, and poor folks fighting for themselves, who they can't control.
When Democrats were fighting to keep the majority last year, AIPAC called around to my then future colleagues to demand they not help me, a fellow Democrat, out. These folks looked at a Black woman —fighting for racial justice, workers’ rights and clean air— in a state that's never had one, as their enemy. Meanwhile AIPAC’s 100+ insurrectionist friends continue to materially harm Black, Jewish and marginalized communities, all with AIPAC’s stamp of approval.
