Today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the following appointments to the Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors and a chair designation for the Workers Compensation Board of Magistrates.? ? Today?s appointees represent Michigan?s young professionals, communities of color, seniors, and more. The appointees announced this week build on Governor Whitmer?s work to ensure appointees reflect Michigan?s diverse population. Sixty percent of appointees are women or people of color, and the Whitmer cabinet is the most diverse in Michigan history.? ? Michigan Strategic Fund Board of Directors? ? Dimitrius Hutcherson, of Southfield, is the current executive vice president, chief administrative officer, and chief technology officer for First Independence Bank. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Finance from Morehouse College and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. Mr. Hutcherson is reappointed to represent individuals within the private sector with experience in commercial lending?for a term commencing August 17, 2023, and expiring July 31, 2027.? ? Cindy Warner, of Traverse City, is the founder and CEO of 360ofme and has had an extensive career in the technology industry. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Grand Valley State University. Ms. Warner is reappointed to represent individuals within the private sector?for a term commencing August 17, 2023, and expiring July 31, 2027.? ? These appointments are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate. ? ? Workers Compensation Board of Magistrates? ? Kevin Kales, of Allen Park, has served as?a magistrate on the Workers? Compensation Commission Board of Magistrates since 2021. Previously, he was an attorney with Legghio & Israel, P.C., where he was the department head of worker?s compensation and social security law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University. He is designated as chair for a term commencing August 17, 2023, and expiring at the pleasure of the governor. He succeeds Luke McMurray who has resigned.? ?
