In early 2021, I was working to plan the Alliance of Baptists annual gathering. Due to COVID-19, this was the first time we would be meeting virtually. We knew we needed a stirring, engaging, and extraordinary speaker who would be able to reach people through their Zoom windows and make them feel connected, creative, and collaborative. 

We reached out to Aurelia Davila Pratt, author of the poem “THE COLOR OF DIRT” and the new book A Brown Girl’s Epiphany, to be our lead speaker. 

And phew — let me tell you, she preached the digital house down!

Her goal is always to steer the listener toward liberation.

A principios del 2021, estaba trabajando para planificar la reunión anual de la Alianza de Bautistas. Debido a COVID-19, esta fue la primera vez que nos íbamos a reunir virtualmente. Sabíamos que necesitábamos un presentador estimulante, cautivador, y extraordinario que podría alcanzar a las personas por medio de sus ventanas de Zoom y hacerlos sentir conectados, creativos, y colaboradores.
