In the past three weeks, over 130 young people applied to go full-time with us this fall in our next cohort of Sunrise fellows. These fellows will get to work in four key Presidential swing states. They’ll lay the groundwork for our electoral organizing in 2020 when we’ll come together by the thousands to defeat Trump and fossil fuel billionaires, and elect leaders who will make the Green New Deal a reality.

We know that 2020 might be our last chance to elect a President and Congress who will still have time to stop the climate crisis before it’s too late. We need to seize this chance. Our survival depends on it. And that’s gonna start with the work that our new fellows will be doing this fall.

Chip in to support the Fall Fellowship so that we can take on as many full-time fellows as possible and hit the ground running as we scale up for 2020.

The fall fellows will be doing critical work to set the stage for our electoral organizing in 2020 and to push the climate crisis and the Green New Deal to the top of the national political agenda. That work will include:

Building Sunrise hubs in key areas so that we have an army of young people ready to register and turn out young voters next fall.
Asking candidates hard questions on camera, forcing them to choose a side publicly.
Learning community organizing skills and history of social movements.
Organizing powerful moral protests to demand that all political leaders treat the climate crisis like the emergency it is.

This work could help determine the outcome of the next election. The more fellows we are able to take on this fall, the more we can get done to elect leaders who will fight for our survival by making the Green New Deal a priority from their first day in office.
