Council on Climate Solutions to meet Aug. 22
The Michigan Council on Climate Solutions will hold its next meeting from 1:30-3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, virtually and in person. The meeting is open to the public.
Phil Roos, the new director of the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE), will chair the meeting. Climate and Energy Advisor Cory Connolly will present an update from EGLE?s Office of Climate and Energy, state Sen. Sam Singh will speak on climate and energy legislation, and EGLE Environmental Justice Public Advocate Regina Strong will offer an update on the Michigan Advisory Council on Environmental Justice.

The Council on Climate Solutions advises the governor, EGLE, and EGLE?s Office of Climate and Energy in implementing the MI Healthy Climate Plan ? the governor?s action plan to protect public health, create clean energy jobs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and transition toward statewide carbon neutrality. State residents appointed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and representatives of several state departments make up the council.
