The personal accounts of the fires that swept through western Maui have been nothing short of horrific.
|
|
Thousands of family homes have been leveled. Most of the historic town of Lahaina was destroyed, and dozens of loved ones have either been killed or are still missing – cementing this as the deadliest U.S. wildfire in more than a century.

This tragedy should be heartbreaking for all people – but for Californians, it hits even closer to home.

We've lived through devastating wildfires. We've seen thousands of acres of our forests go up in flames and the homes of our fellow citizens destroyed. We understand – and we know that we must do everything we can to help our Pacific neighbors recover.
