Joining State and City Officials for Groundbreaking of New Office and Retail Complex
[link removed] [[link removed]] Joe joined state and city officials for the groundbreaking of a new office and retail complex in Norwich. The project was made possible by the $400,000 investment that Joe helped secure from the American Rescue Plan. Celebrating the $17M RAISE GRANT with CT's Senators and New London city leaders
[link removed] [[link removed]] Joe joined New London Mayor Passero and other federal and city officials to celebrate the a new $17 million federal grant awarded by the Biden Administration to revitalize the city intermodal waterfront transit hub. The funding came as a result of the lawmakers’ advocacy to the US Department of Transportation to support critical infrastructure projects in the city, including the construction of a pedestrian bridge, high-speed ferry terminal, and transit hub. Joe's Plan to Erase Thousands in Debt Interest
[link removed] [[link removed]] Joe introduced a bill called the Student Loan Interest Elimination Act that will refinance the interest rates on all existing federal loans to 0% and will limit the future interest rates to 4%. This comes on the heels of the Supreme Court striking down the administration’s student loan forgiveness up to $20,000. Joe is calling on his colleagues in Congress to act on commonsense and practical solutions to address the student debt crisis as repayment student loans resume on September 1.
