School Nurses Level the Playing Field | |
Each of the five social determinants of health is equally important; however, education directly correlates with good health and social mobility; it is the great equalizer. The Journal of School Nursing (JOSN) free access article, Education Is a Social Determinant of Health: School Nurses Level the Playing Field, documents that school nurses are vital to the nation's public health infrastructure and the need for a national policy ensuring a stable funding mechanism for school nurses to ensure all children have the opportunity to excel academically.
JOSN and NASN School Nurse journal access is among the many NASN member benefits. Sign up for New Content alerts for JOSN and NASN School Nurse and receive notifications when the latest issues are released, and new articles are published online.
