Kearney Outdoor Education Complex grand opening is Aug. 19

Come celebrate the grand opening of Nebraska's newest outdoor education center!

The public is invited to attend the grand opening of the Kearney Outdoor Education Complex from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 19.

Attendees can enjoy free trap and skeet shooting, sporting clays, archery, education center tours, interactive educational activities, hot dogs and refreshments (while supplies last), and meet staff members.

Entrance fee increase vital to improving Nebraska's parks

Nebraska Game and Parks approved [ [link removed] ] fee increases for its 2024 state park entry permits at its meeting Aug. 4. The nominal fee increases will help Game and Parks meet customer needs and keep pace with increased participation in outdoor recreational activities, as well as with public expectations of a high-quality experience.

The added income will specifically help address higher construction costs at parks seen since the COVID pandemic.?
