Friend,

As I write this, our VOA teams are in active “heat emergency” mode. This summer’s intense, record-breaking heat has been brutal on the elderly, homeless, and others across the country. We’re responding with immediate relief like cooling shelters, water, and critical support.

I hope you’ve been staying cool this summer. Thank goodness for air-conditioning and fans! Our VOA teams have been extra busy helping people with heat-related emergencies. We're very focused on those facing homelessness – for them, the extreme temps are deadly and resources can't wait.

Will you consider a gift for our Urgent Needs | Summer Takes More Drive?

I'm not sure we could do it at VOA without friends like you. You're a good neighbor to your community and our work to improve lives in it. You know how small steps make a big difference for families in need.

This summer is particularly challenging. As inflation rises along with the temperatures, it just presses families already struggling into worse circumstances.

You’ve been a friend to VOA, and I'm so grateful to share the same value of being a good neighbor in the community! I hope you will consider making a gift for local efforts, and I guarantee your neighbors in need will be incredibly grateful.

Wishing you a safe and happy rest of summer!

Gratefully,

Tanisha Smith, Vice President
