Dear Jack,

All of us at the League are excited to share this news: the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria has offered a $500,000 matching gift to support our ongoing campaign to protect the forest and culturally significant land within Russian River Redwoods. Inspired by the beauty of this forest, the Tribe will match all donations to the campaign before Sept. 30, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000.

Earlier this month we announced the opportunity to acquire this 394-acre redwood forest in Sonoma County, launching a fundraising campaign to secure the $6.5 million needed by Sept. 30, 2023. So many friends and supporters have already stepped forward to support this project and we’re grateful to have you with us.

This match and our partnership with Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria is a huge boost to our effort to protect this beautiful redwood forest —and its famous Clar Tree. Russian River Redwoods lies in the heart of the ancestral lands of Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria.

The generosity of our friends at Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria fills our hearts. But we can’t save this forest alone.

Every donation to support the protection of the Clar Tree and Russian River Redwoods will go twice as far. Thank you to Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria for offering to match all gifts made before Sept. 30, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000.

We hope that their generosity inspires others. Together we can help save this iconic riverfront redwood forest.
