Over the weekend, the Washington State Republican Party elected Jim Walsh as Chair. The Mainstream Republicans of Washington said they were “delighted” by this news – but Jim Walsh is far from mainstream. He has a long history of racism, homophobia, and anti-semitism .

And, Walsh pushed a dangerous legislative agenda in Olympia to ban abortion, increase access to guns, and undermine our democracy. On the same day, they also voted to endorse Joe Kent for Congress more than a year before election day. This is who the Republicans want to lead their party.

Republicans are so out-of-touch that they believe this is how they will win in 2024. We know they’re looking and several pick-ups in our State Senate. It’s critical we show that their extremism does not work for Washington, and that we’re ready to defend our Senators.
