Ohio voters reject Issue 1, scoring win for abortion-rights supporters ahead of November
Hi, it’s Roland Gutierrez, the Democratic TX State Senator running for U.S. Senate against Ted Cruz.
By now, you’ve heard that the people of Ohio resoundingly rejected a ballot measure that would’ve made it harder to pass a Constitutional amendment to protect women’s reproductive rights.
The GOP tried to sneak a quick election during the summer, hoping students and young people would be out of town. Instead, voters came out in record numbers to send a message that women’s reproductive freedom is not up for grabs.
Though Ohio has trended toward the Republican Party in the last decade, this issue is clearly motivating folks in ways we haven’t seen in a generation.
Here in Texas, Ted Cruz has one of the most anti-choice, anti-woman records of anyone in the U.S. Senate. I believe Texans deserve better – and that’s just part of why I’m running against him in 2024.
The results in Ohio prove that Ted Cruz is beatable. But I need your help to send him into political retirement. Will you pitch in $25 or more to help me DEFEAT Ted Cruz once and for all?

The women of Texas don’t want Ted Cruz deciding how to live their lives or what to do with their bodies. I’m proud to fight alongside them.
Thanks for your support,
Roland Gutierrez
