Education is the closest thing to magic in America. It has the ability to help people rise from poverty, and I know that from experience.
I started a School Choice Caucus in Congress and I’ve championed the issue for years because I believe we need to give parents a choice and kids a chance.

As a kid, I grew up poor and in a single-parent household. I went to four different elementary schools by the fourth grade. I nearly flunked my freshman year of high school before my Mama and some important mentors helped me turn my life around.
Thank God, a good education changed my life and helped me rise from poverty to live the American Dream. The good news about America is that your future is not dependent on the color of your skin, it’s dependent on the quality of your education.
But I know it’s really hard for parents to find and afford good schools for their kids. This is especially true today. Many schools are trying to INDOCTRINATE instead of educate. They want kids to believe America is an evil country. They even want to ban the Bible!
That’s why as your President, I will stand up to the teacher’s unions and FIGHT for our kids. I just need to know if you’re with me, John.
