John,

From Acadia to Yosemite, Atlanta to Wenatchee, national and local

What Do Jimmy Carter and Newt Gingrich Have in Common?

[link removed]

The answer: an abiding commitment to connecting people to the
outdoors. Through their own work and now that of their descendants,
they prove that we can be divided by politics but united in
conservation. Sure enough, red and blue can-and often
do-make green.

Students Help Design Their Schoolyards

By helping to design their own schoolyards, students learn about
everything from native plants to drainage to urban heat. Embedded in
the design process is another lesson: the importance of collaboration
and the power of advocacy.

Happy Birthday, NPS!

As we help the National Park Service mark its 107th year on August 25,
we're also celebrating 50 years of partnership and impact. It's a long
and beautiful friendship with some impressive stats to go with it.

Uniting for Greener Subsidized Housing

Housing authorities are often the largest landowners in a city, and
strong partnerships with these entities are key to equitable access to
green space. From urban Ohio to rural New Hampshire, these examples
prove that it takes a village to make a village.?

TPL Saves 2.5 Miles of the Iconic Pacific Crest Trail

About 10 percent of the Pacific Crest Trail sits on private land,
leaving its future vulnerable. We recently protected Girard Ridge on
the PCT so people can connect with nature and incredible mountain
landscapes.

Vital Land Saved in Western Maine Mountains

Working with key partners, TPL helped protect important forests in
Maine's High Peaks region, benefiting the local economy, contributing
to outdoor access, and linking over 100,000 acres of public lands
along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail.

Protecting the New England Hiking Experience

[link removed]

Stretching 235 miles, the New England National Scenic Trail is ideal
for connecting to the outdoors. Unfortunately, barely half of the
trail is protected in Massachusetts. TPL is changing
that-starting with 196 acres in Southwick.

More Room to Explore the Saint Croix

Along the Saint Croix River in Minnesota, Chengwatana State Forest is
perfect for kayaking, fishing, camping, and hiking. TPL recently
helped add 241 acres to this white-pine gem, connecting more people to
this beloved landscape.

Announcing the New Dundee Community Forest

One of the largest unprotected properties in Mount Washington Valley
is now safe from development, thanks to TPL and partners. This
1,250-acre property facilitates trail and habitat connectivity while
protecting water resources and mature forests.

Expanding San Gabriel Mountains National Monument will protect
archeological sites, rare habitat for threatened and endangered
