USA Today:
How Republicans flipped America’s state supreme courts
“State supreme courts were once dominated by Democrats. A concerted effort by right-wing groups has changed that — with massive implications for abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, and elections.”

We have good news and bad news, team.
The bad news is that thanks to years of coordinated efforts and millions in spending from far-right donors, Republican politicians have succeeded in stacking state supreme courts across the country with their preferred judges.
But the good news is that ahead of 2024, more than 30 states across the country will hold races for their highest courts. This means we have a critical opportunity to work to elect fair-minded judges – but there’s no time to waste.
Earlier this year, despite GOP megadonors spending millions in an effort to elect their preferred justice, Wisconsin voters made their voices heard by electing Judge Janet Protasiewicz by a commanding margin. A.G. Holder called it “a critical victory for our democracy.”
Together, we can repeat this success across the country. Will you donate now to support the NDRC’s fight for fairness?
