Hi Friend,
What do you think of when you picture a politician?
Are you picturing a cis white man, over the age of 50, responsible for making decisions that impact millions of people that he's never met?
So before going any further, tell us:
Do you think our government is a gerontocracy? >>
YES >> ([link removed])
NO >> ([link removed])
If you said yes, you’re in good company. A new CBS News poll shows that 73% of Americans agree that there should be a maximum age limit placed on elected officials.
The average U.S. mayor of a major city is 58 years old.
The median age of school board members is 59.
Meanwhile, more than half of all Americans are millennials or younger.
The people predominantly in charge -- Baby Boomers, most of whom are white men -- have perpetuated a system that has privileged them.
How do we change this?
By recruiting, training and ELECTING young, diverse progressives who not only are more representative of our country, but are passionate about supporting their communities.
And that’s exactly what Run for Something is here to do.
So please, let us know what you think: Do you agree that our government is run as a gerontocracy and needs to change? >> ([link removed])
YES >> ([link removed])
NO >> ([link removed])
We as a country are facing big problems right now. But together, we’re going to elect more young, diverse progressives to help solve them.
Let's go,
