THE LEGISLATURE RETURNS:  MAKE PUBLIC SAFETY TOP PRIORITY!
Contact Your Legislator Through GOC ‘s Legislative Action Center

The Legislature returned from their summer recess this past Monday and they have until September 14 to wreak as much damage on California as humanly possible. Whether it’s blowing up the Constitution by dismantling both the Second and First Amendments, or something as mind-blowing as legalizing psychedelics, the Hefty Lefties are hard at work.

The last thing on their agenda is protecting Californians – if that were the case, they would stop harassing responsible gun owners and instead direct their attention to the thugs and thieves that are terrorizing communities from one end of the state to the other. Going shopping at your local grocery store should not be met with trepidation. Californians’ concerns about crime are legitimately on the rise – polling finds that nearly two in three Californians call violence and street crime in their local community a problem – a notable 24% spike from just three years ago. Combine this with new crime data from the Department of Justice**.

BUT AS ALWAYS, GOC IS PUSHING BACK!  Public safety must be a priority for EVERY ELECTED OFFICIAL IN THE STATE – regardless of party affiliation.  That’s our message to the Legislature as they close out the 2023 Session – blaming the misdeeds of the criminal element on the lawful will NEVER YIELD POSITIVE RESULTS!

Now is the time to make your voices heard – GOC’S LEGISLATIVE ACTION CENTER is queued up to make it super easy for you to contact your legislator – we have letters on the most significant bills we’ve been opposing and we need your help in letting the powers that be know where you stand on the following unconstitutional bills:

AB 28 – Gun/Ammo Tax
AB 1089 – Milling Machine Ban
AB 1133 – CCW/DOJ Takeover
AB 1406 – DOJ / 30 Day Delay
AB 1483 – Pre-cursor Parts Purchase
SB 2 – CCW Restrictions
SB 368 – Mandatory Transfers
SB 452 – Microstamping
SB 725 – Stolen Firearms

Thank you for standing with us in defense of the Second Amendment!  The hill might be a tough one to climb, but GOC has NEVER WAVERED in our dedication to preserving our rights!

**It didn’t make the news last month but it might surprise you to know that, with little fanfare, California’s annual report on crime was released the Friday before the 4th of July.  That’s called a “bad news” dump and it’s done purposefully to make sure there is little attention by the media and therefore even less attention by the people to whom it should matter most:  California residents! CalMatter’s Dan Walters wrote about it in detail - to read his full article,  Annual Crime Report Shows Californians’ Fear of Increasing Crime is Justified, click here.
