National Domestic Workers Alliance
============================
John — Domestic workers often work in isolation, relying on the goodwill of clients or employers.
They face challenges like improper wages, lack of breaks, and being at high risk of various forms of harassment and harm – including trafficking – because they don't have the same protections as other workers.
We believe that all workers, no matter their job, should be treated fairly and have safe workplaces. The Federal Domestic Workers Bill of Rights is an important step make this happen – and we need your help to get it passed.
The bill is the first comprehensive national legislation to provide basic labor rights such as safe working conditions, fair wages, and protections from discrimination and sexual harassment for domestic workers across the country.
Congress is in recess during the month of August, so Senators and Representatives will be in their home districts. This is a perfect time to raise awareness about the need to ensure domestic workers have protections they deserve. So, John: how will you show up for domestic workers this August?

This historic summer of strikes serves as a powerful reminder that the fight for fair treatment and equitable compensation extends beyond specific occupations.
The domestic work sector is one of the fastest-growing industries in the United States, employing millions of workers — most of whom are women of color and immigrants — who provide care and critical services and support to families across the country.
So, it is LONG overdue that nannies, housecleaners and home care workers have access to the same legal protections as other workers – and with lawmakers in their home districts, we have a powerful opportunity to win those long-denied rights.
John, will you show up for domestic workers this summer? By pledging to take action, you commit to promoting and advocating for the Federal Domestic Workers Bill of Rights. [[link removed]]
Your actions can help create a better future for domestic workers and the families that count on them. Together, we can empower domestic workers and create a brighter future for everyone.
Thanks for all that you do,
Advocacy Team

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.
Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
