Before my wife, Connie, agreed to our first date back in 2003, she needed to know just one thing: my voting record on reproductive rights and LGBTQ+ rights. Both had to be 100% – otherwise, no date.

Here we are 20 years later, and I’m still fighting harder than ever. We were victorious this month in defeating special interests and keeping power where it belongs – in the hands of voters. But this fight is far from over.
