Hi John.
I know Kansas families are struggling with higher prices on everything from gas to groceries.
Inflation hurts everyone, including people living on fixed incomes like my mom. She’s a retired postal worker and veteran. No one should have their budget squeezed even more.
Thankfully, we're also seeing key improvements we can build on. That includes a record-breaking 13 million new jobs over the last two years.
To keep moving forward, I’m focused on concrete and bipartisan solutions to lower prices. So today, I’m sharing a Special Report on how I’m working to build an economy that works for everyone – and to give you a chance to share your input.

Making Life More Affordable
Life must be more affordable for our economy to truly work better for everyone.
• I helped pass a new law that reduces our dependence on foreign oil. It lowers gas prices and utility bills by increasing U.S. energy and clean energy production. And it has tax cuts to help families purchase energy efficient appliances and vehicles.
• On the U.S. House Agriculture Committee, I’m working in a bipartisan way to support Kansas farmers and lower costs. That includes a bipartisan push for investigations into anti-competitive behavior.
• I’ve also pushed back against drug companies by passing a law that lets Medicare cap insulin prices at $35 a month and negotiate for lower prescription drug prices.

Strengthening U.S. Manufacturing and Supply Chains
I’m working to rein in inflation by building a stronger U.S. manufacturing industry. That will create more jobs and lower prices too.
That’s why I served as a negotiator with Republicans and Democrats on a major, bipartisan manufacturing law. The bipartisan CHIPS and Science law means making more products and jobs in America – not China.
We're also seeing progress locally. Panasonic's new battery plant in De Soto means thousands of new, good-paying jobs. I worked with Republicans and Democrats to attract this investment to our region.
The CHIPS and Science Act supports U.S. manufacturers, so we can make more computer chips in America.
These chips are used in everything from cars to medical devices. Securing this supply chain is crucial to keeping prices low. The law also supports small- and medium-sized manufacturers, which I’ve long fought for.
Now we’re seeing the results – with a surge of factory construction across America.

Creating Better-Paying Jobs
An economy that works for everyone also needs more better-paying jobs.
That’s why I worked with Republicans and Democrats to help pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce says the law is fiscally responsible. And now, we’re seeing the results.
It’s supporting Kansas jobs by modernizing U.S. 69 in Overland Park, expanding K-68 in Miami County, and replacing lead pipes in Olathe.

We have a lot more to do. But these are the kinds of concrete and bipartisan solutions we can build on.
As I keep pushing for more progress, please know that I look forward to hearing your input too.
