One year ago, President Biden signed the historic Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) into law – landmark legislation that has made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless working families across our nation.
I proudly voted to pass this law because it addressed several key issues facing our nation.

To
help
tackle
the
burden
of
rising
prescription
drug
costs,
the
IRA
empowered
Medicare
to
negotiate
drug
prices,
resulting
in
lower
out-of-pocket
expenses
for
seniors
and
individuals
with
chronic
conditions.
*
In
order
to
deliver
relief
to
working
parents
struggling
to
pay
for
child
care,
the
IRA
increased
funding
for
child
care
assistance,
making
quality
child
care
more
accessible
and
affordable,
and
allowing
families
to
maintain
their
careers.
*
And
to
finally
address
the
climate
crisis,
the
IRA
made
unprecedented
investments
in
domestic
energy
production
and
manufacturing
while
incentivizing
the
use
of
clean
energy,
putting
us
on
track
to
reduce
greenhouse
gas
emissions
40%
by
2030!
Passing this historic legislation was a major milestone for our country. But as we celebrate this anniversary, we must also recognize that the work is far from over.
