Today, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals rolled back the FDA’s 2000 approval of mifepristone, which limits the window for abortion seekers to take the drug down to seven weeks, and mandates in-person dispensing. Today’s decision nullifies the 2016 update, which had expanded access to up to 10 weeks.

We are devastated by this decision to roll back access to life-saving medication, but are grateful to know this does not go into effect unless the Supreme Court decides not to take up this case, and that medication abortion is STILL available up to 10 weeks !

Will the Fifth Circuit uphold the district court’s ruling that essentially signed off on the case brought by religious right extremists? Will the case end up back at the Supreme Court, or will SCOTUS use its shadow docket to let the Fifth Circuit’s ruling stand? Will we explode into a supernova of rage? ONLY TIME WILL TELL!
