Martha is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist living and working in the Piedmont region of NC. She hosts The Martha Bassett Show, a monthly musical variety show at the Reeves Theater in Elkin which features national, regional, and local musicians. Her programming is heavy on female artists and she is a proud supporter of Lillian's List's work. Also at the event, we'll award the Jan Allen Courage Award to an amazing woman legislator who has been fighting for us in the NC House or Senate. Stay tuned--we'll be announcing the recipient next week!
Plus, we'll hear from Jenn Mahan from the Center for Reproductive Rights about how NC is a pivotal state for abortion access nationwide. Jenn is a State Legislative Fellow on the Center's US State Policy and Advocacy team, tracking and analyzing abortion-related legislation in all 50 states and DC.
