Today we’re launching, The Nevadan, our first completely bilingual newsroom!
Our Nevada reporters have their work cut out for them (more on this in a minute), so we’ve set a goal of raising $7,000 today to ensure that they have the resources they need to hit the ground running. Will you chip in $5 now to help us get there?
During last year’s midterm elections, Nevadans found themselves exposed to dangerous and harmful disinformation, with rampant, false claims of election tampering and voter fraud. Latino voters in particular were targets of these misinformation campaigns. We can expect to see this same kind of election misinformation and voter intimidation next year.
Nevada Democrat Jacky Rosen is considered one of the most vulnerable Senators up for reelection this cycle. And we know this race will be close. In 2022, Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto only won her race by 7,900 votes. Similarly in 2020, President Biden only won Nevada by just 33,500 votes.
The Nevadan will be there every step of the way, debunking bad information and sharing essential local news stories with readers in communities across the Battle Born state.
