Dear john,
It’s the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) this week, and I wanted to take a moment and talk about the progress House Democrats have made to lower costs for families in El Paso and across the country.
See for yourself below some of the data coming in about the impact of our work:
According to the Democrat - House Committee on the Budget and Joint Economic Committee Democrats,
- Our new $35-a-month cap on insulin costs saves 2,100 Medicare beneficiaries living in El Paso an average of $410 annually compared to 2020 prices.
- We’ve made healthcare coverage more affordable for the estimated 72,000 people signed up for a marketplace plan in El Paso. Because of our work, the average enrollee will save $580 in premiums this year. Now 4 in 5 Americans can find a healthcare plan for less than $10 a month!
- We’ve also provided affordable and accessible broadband to 57,000 households in El Paso, reducing broadband costs by roughly $20,520,000 annually.
The work to continue lowering costs for families like yours and grow the economy from the bottom up and middle out remains a top priority for me.
