I wanted you to be one of the first to know and to hear it from me
personally
today: I’m officially running for Congress for Iowa’s 1st
Congressional District.

Right now, my district is represented by an anti-abortion Far-Right
extremist who’s deeply unpopular. In fact, she only won by 6 votes in 2020
in what was one of the closest congressional elections in the history of
our country.

why I’m asking if you’ll help us raise the $100,000 we need to hit our

My opponent co-sponsored legislation that would ban abortion nationwide –
even in states that voted and codified protections after Roe v. Wade –
without any exceptions at all.

She’s spoken in favor of privatizing Social Security, cutting Medicare,
including cuts to current beneficiaries, and has been applauded by the gun
lobby for voting against even the most basic (and widely popular) gun
safety measures like enhanced background checks.

The only reason she’s been able to barely hold onto her seat is because
she’s accepted millions from PACs and special interest groups – if she
didn’t have their checks, she would have lost. Meanwhile I’m running a
grassroots campaign focused on giving Iowans REAL representation in
government.

was an unwinnable race, and someone with a scientific background: I’m
