Dear John,
Today marks the one-year anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)–and its historic investments in climate action being signed into law. It included my Clean Energy for America Act – which for the first time, makes sure that the tax code rewards emissions reductions, and encourages the development of new clean energy technologies. This is permanent and one of the most consequential bills in my time in public service.
This historic win for protecting our planet would never have happened without the power of people like you and organizations like OLCV.
But there is more to be done on many issues to preserve and protect Oregon's environment, which is why I hope you will join me and OLCV members in discussing the environment during a virtual town hall on Tuesday, August 22nd at 2:00PM. [[link removed]]
We will have the chance to celebrate recent wins, get updates on climate investments from IRA, and hear the latest on efforts to protect our natural legacy and environment for future generations, including better protection of our clean air, water, and our public lands in Oregon. Even more, this town hall is about hearing from you on what environmental issue is critical to you.

The updated River Democracy Act came about after directly hearing from Oregonians across our state about what was important to them at meetings like this one, so I’m looking forward to hearing from you next week and finding out what we can work on together next. RSVP today and submit your question, idea, or comment for me! [[link removed]]
I hope you’ll join me and let me hear from you!
Yours,
