Today is the first anniversary of the Inflation Reduction Act!

I’m proud to have voted for this landmark legislation making historic investments in climate action, inflation reduction, and affordable health care.

The IRA transformed the lives of hardworking Washingtonians and Americans nationwide – but we know that if the GOP takes back control of the Senate, their first agenda item will be rolling back key components of this legislation.

The IRA enacted the largest-ever federal investment in climate action , and at a time when wildfires and flooding are destroying our communities, fighting the climate crisis couldn’t be more important.

The clean energy tax credits and grants included in this historic bill will deliver lower energy costs , good-paying jobs , and real energy independence for Washington state.

House Republicans already showed their cards when they tried to roll back climate protections in the debt ceiling negotiations. I have no doubt Senate Republicans would do exactly the same with a majority.
