When the Trump administration tried to implement a “public charge rule” in October -- a rule that would punish immigrants for legally using public assistance, threatening the health and safety of hundreds of thousands of the most vulnerable -- three federal courts jumped in to stop this heinous rule from going into effect.
 
But late last month, the Supreme Court intervened. In a 5-4 vote, they lifted the nationwide injunction set by the lower courts and allowed Trump to move forward with his cruel plan.
